Talking Pride Comes Before - A passion for realism

Real people with real problems and real lives. That’s what I like to read about, so that’s what I write about, too.

In Pride Comes Before, my heroine is beseiged on every front. Her marriage is on fire, her work is a constant source of stress, and her family of origin - who invented families? - is imploding.

Life is so often like this. My mother swore until her dying day that problems in life always come in threes. That hasn’t always been my experience. My problems tend to come in fours, fives, sixes, or sevens (any takers for eight bucket loads of life’s @#!*?).

My point is, troubles come in waves. It’s never just one thing, is it? Not in my book, anyway.
