Day 5: Creative Challenge
The black dog bit again this morning after a couple of very long work days, and I was grateful to have the creative challenge to get me moving in a positive direction, and grateful to the friends who are inspiring me with their creations along the way. I made this cuff bangle with aged copper and sterling silver. On my wrist, it has an urban grunge look about it. I'm really pleased with it.
Opera singer and strange bedfellow, Kanen Breen, has really gotten in touch with his inner seamstress this week. So much so that he's developed a bad case of sequin-induced RSI. Sacrificing for your art doesn't get much better than this. And it was well worth it. Kanen is going to cause traffic jams when he crosses the road in these fancy, eye-catching wheels.
Stephen Bennett has been working on a lugubrious dance that he's being uncharacteristically secretive about. It's a larger scale work, I'm told, that will take a number of days. For now, all that he's unveiled is the in-progress score. Watch this space for the next exciting instalment.
