Day 3: Creative Challenge
Prepare to be consumed with jealousy. Creative opera singer and strange bedfellow, Kanen Breen, has created a veritable masterpiece with this jaw dropping, mind boggling, head spinning, drop dead gorgeous jacket. He's hand stitched every sequin and every seed bead with painstaking care and it shows. This jacket is almost as amazing as its owner. It sparkles. It gleams. It wins hearts everywhere it goes. For those of us who know him, the resemblance is obvious.
Stephen Bennett has been so consumed with his music composition that he's almost forgotten his name. He's been inspired and productive - musically speaking, at least. Today's masterpiece is a 21 bar ensemble for clarinet, guitar and string quartet. He plans to review it tomorrow since he's still brimming with ideas.
I worked long hours today, which forced me to think carefully about what I could create in a very limited time frame.
I've also been keen to see what I could make with found, natural objects. Since we've recently completed our annual winter prune, the solution was obvious...
I'm particularly fond of the stick sculpture below, with its oriental form. I arranged it to match the oriental vase that Steve bought for me at an auction a few years ago.
